Celebrating IXOM's Chemistry Australia Awards Finalists
05 July 2026

Sophie Smith
The annual Chemistry Australia Industry Awards were held recently, recognising outstanding achievements across Australia's chemical industry.
This year, IXOM was proud to have two finalists recognised for their contributions: Justin Mathew, a finalist in the Young Leader Award, and Nathan McCluskey, a finalist in the Health, Safety & Environment Award category.
Nathan's nomination highlighted IXOM's work with a major Australian water utility to develop and implement an improved chlorine valve design for critical water treatment infrastructure. The project delivered enhanced safety, reliability and maintainability outcomes, and has since revealed broader opportunities to strengthen safety performance across the water and energy sectors.
Justin's nomination recognised his leadership of a highly complex 20-month project to deliver IXOM UltraPure MEG™ through an Australian-first ship-to-ship transfer operation. His project management brought together more than 27 stakeholder groups, delivering a safe and successful outcome that has expanded IXOM's capability to support LNG customers across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
While we didn't take home an award this year, we are extremely proud of both Justin and Nathan and the impact they continue to make for our customers, industry and communities.
Congratulations, Justin and Nathan. We look forward to sharing more detailed case studies on their award-nominated achievements in the coming weeks.
